The first Arrowhead Poker Run rolls out of Philip on Saturday, Aug. 19, for a day on the road to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The arrowhead cars and motorcycles will make nine stops along its way, passing through western South Dakota to negotiate Interstate 90 and S.D. Highways 40, 34 and 73.

The drive is estimated at 270 miles in total but if participants want a shorter ride, they may choose to start in either Philip or just catch up at Elkview Campground off I-90 Exit 37 near Sturgis.

As part of the rules, players ought to be in at least five stops to be able to draw five cards.

The stops are scheduled at Badlands Trading Post, Cactus Flat (I-90 Exit 131); Cowboy Corner, Jct. 160th Ave. and Highway 44; Caputa Store; Elkview Campground, (I-90 Exit 37) and the Enning Store, Howes Store, T-34 - all on Highway 34 - and returning to the 73 Bar on Highway 73.
